Folks,

I know there cant be strict quantum regarding how much money one should take along, but then, how much money is enough for me to survive in adelaide, assuming i do not have a job for 1 month?

I am super sure i will get one... bt then it is better to assume... i feel 1.5 k aud$ should cross my boat, but i am not sure... anyone?

Thanx

What you expect to take home each month from your new job? As you'll have to live on that, it would be a good start.

Do you plan on buying loads of new possessions?

Nope, not unless i am earning good bucks. My primary concern is that will 2 k be enough for me to spend a month in Adelaide( removing the airtickets cost) assuming i do not work for that while...

It really depends on what that is for. I presume you'll be renting somewhere? how much is that costing?

Food, you should have enough for one person with about $500 max (that's for the month, not weekly). That would probably include incidentals such as soap powder, toilet rolls etc.

Transport - how are you going to get about? Do you have a hire car, or would you be using public transport? Public transport is $7.70 for a day trip ticket, which means you can get as many buses, trains or trams as you like in the day you use it. Shorter trips are cheaper at $2.50 and the ticket lasts for 2 hours (off peak times, it's $4.10 on peak).

What other things do you expect to pay for?
