How much do you think you will take with you to start your new life. I have read a few posts where some are taking £50k some less some more. Thought I would start a poll.

We are taking about 9000 euro's, which is about 6000 GBP.
I'm not answering the poll, because our situation is quite different to the majority on here.
- we will be 22 and 26 when we move (no kids)
- we will be staying the first few weeks with friends in Perth
- we will be looking for ANY job straight away, and will take the first offered, even if it is a cleaning job.
- we will be renting, and going for the cheapest, so even a flat. (only if we get jobs within 2 weeks, we'll look for something better) We are taking our stuff, so only need unfurnished.
- I have Aussie citizenship and accent to match, which I think will help a bit, even for partime student type jobs.
- I can apply for newstart payments from Centrelink, while finding a job (because I'm a citizen)
- because I have friends there (young and older) I hope that if needed, those contacts will be helpful when finding jobs.

Sorry TFA, I'm thinking in dollars already so I've answered in the wrong category, only just noticed its in pounds. That takes one off the 200k category anyway!
