Unhappy how much can I get????

Can anybody tell me the answer to this, probably simple question. When checking to see how much you can borrow from a bank for a morgage, you are shown an INCOME column but does this refer to your gros or net income? ie www.acumenloans.com.au
It will make a difference!!

Not sure, I think alot use Net Income in Australia.

Which makes more sense in the real world.

If you have a look on the VirginMoney site, the calculators ask you to fill in net income.

Gross, but then you'll find they ask you questions like how many kids have you got and what are the totals of your credit card limits (not how much you owe, but how much your limits are). Each time you answer the amount you can borrow goes down.
