How Much !!!!!!
Does this sound right to you.
We have two cats 2 years old. One male cat and his sister. We spoke to an expert on transporting pets to Australia and asked for a quote on bringing the cats with us when we immigrate. We were astounded when the person said the cost will be between 1000 and 1200 pounds. The cost of a one way ticket to Adelaide is about 350 pounds for an adult human being. What do they do send the cats via business class? Do they feed them an endless supply of field mice and budgies on their journey, while watching cats and dogs from there business class seat. I couldnt help my self and said hang on mate Im talking 2 pussy cats here, not 2 sabre tooth tigers. At that point the person seemed to lose interest in life and became unresponsive. Is it me, am I tight or is it a racket using peoples fondness of pets to extract as much money from them as possible. I Have to admit we decided there and they would not enjoy OZ But when they are affectionate. (Feeding times only of course) We feel guilty about leaving them behind with family. Has anybody else got this problem, or indeed could recommend a company that does not rip off the old pet loving poms on their big journey.:scared: :scared: :scared: |
Well I am interested in who gave you the quote - we have 2 cats and were quoted £1k each!! I didn't go on to tell them their age - 20 and 9!!
Think they justify their charges by wittering on about hand made to measure boxes etc. Special certificates, passports, quarantine etc. How can you not pay up when you have 2 children looking at you with tears in their eyes and felt tip colouring of their pets!! Think I will be moving out of investment banking and into international pet transportation in the near future. Will let you know when I do - although it's gonna cost ya!! ;) |

Buy them an old Skippy film and let them watch it every day for a week. Emotional blackmail there,s great profit in it. Cheers Tom Donna & Kids  |
Take a look at http://www.movingdownunder.co.uk/files/pets.php for more info and a company that specialise in shipping etc.

So we are being very nice to our friends and making sure the dogs are both shampooed regularly in the hope of conning one of our friends to take them in...afterall they can always post pictures of the dogs on the web for the kids to sniff over!! To be honest , I think the whole reason for emmigrating is so I can finally get shut of my hubbies bloody dgs!!!!:D |

Well A/b at the gowing rate you could not afford the food for them , 1pet mouse +1budgie 1 way Adelaide to Darwin cost one of our clients $450 , lucky it was a corporate move and his company paid for it..........:D  MM |

Re: How Much !!!!!!
Originally posted by janeyray I bought my two cats (in the same container) and one dog (different container!!) and the cost was 1400 pounds for all three back in March this year, flying with British Airways via Singapore to Perth. I used Whitelea Sky Dogs in Matlock, Derbyshire. :) Will look them up and check them out. |
Hi A/B
Let us know how you go on this subject. We are not going until Jan 2004 and so are in process of taking out 2nd mortgage to pay for feline transportation. Would be interested in any research you can offer - I got a load of info from the last emmigrate show in March - will hook out over this week and let you know re contacts etc. Like the Koala/Roo idea - our son aged 2 would be a push over. However, our daughter is nearly 11 - an eco warrior (certainly looks like swampy in the mornings) and would be rather difficult to trick!! Would dress up in a furry suit if I thought it might help - wonder how much I would be to transport via cat transportation company - £10K +! Will update later in week. |
Fantastic idea! One each for the kids - they don't even need to go in the hold.
How do I go about turning them into hats then - do you think it'll hurt!!?? :D |

Cats have been put on a crash diet. 6 Months they should look the part. Could you suggest any tranquilisers for them. Any ideas on sticking them to the childrens heads? No Nails do you think? Cheers  |
