Hello,

Happy New Year to everyone. Just wondered how many cases you took with you? We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children. We are going to the shops on sunday and were going to look at some bags/cases in the sales.

Also can anyone recommend a good make of bag/case? We bought one to go on holiday last year and bits fell off it all the way from our house to Florida and back again!!

Depends on if this is a one way trip or not And if you are going to be going on lots of hols once here.

Usual story - you get what you pay for. So go for the highest (original) price at sale price if you get me. The airlines are specific as to size of any carry on luggage you are allowed now. Possibly the same goes for the hold - not sure. Don't forget to get as light as possible - if you struggle to pick it up empty remember you are going to stuff it as full as you can - not like a two week holiday.

We are two adults and two kids and we took 2 large and 3 smaller cases with us as well as our hand luggage. The cases were pretty much packed to bursting as we were limited to boot space and weight of course as we were driving a hire car from the North East to London for the flight.

Two of the cases were a few years old and didnt cost us very much when we bought them but they arrived in Australia in one piece.

Hi

We took two very large, one large, two medium and 2 big ish holdalls with wheels and each had hand luggage and we are 2 adults and three children. Each case must not exceed 32kg for health and safety and they will make you empty it until it reaches that weight if it is over, so if you're not sure, make sure one of the bags isn't as full incase you have to add to it from another!
