How to make DVD player region free
Hi,
I was searching the 'net this morning on how to make my LG DVD player 'region free' or at least region 4 for our move to Oz and came across the following site that you can search for your model of DVD player to see if there is a code for it. Full instructions are provided (from what I have seen).
BTW: Region encoding means that your player can only play those DVD's specific to your region. Using the correct code (region free or '0') can ensure that your DVD player can play DVD's from any region.

Good link mate, but theres an easier way.
Due to the gyroscopic function of most dvd players, just turn it upside down, and it plays all UK dvd's.

They have the ability to download the software to the machine to make it region free.
Hope this helps if you can't find your code.

I struggled to find the code for our Panasonic DVD recorder online. I took it to the local repair shop who sorted it for me for about $50. Plays all regions now.

Most players/recorders can be made to region free by using a series of key presses on the remote control and on the unit themselves. I used to work in a large electronics form making VCR's & DVD players/recorders and it is built into just about all of these types of units.
£50 is alot to pay.
