How long does it take???
I am applying to emigrate to Oz under a skills visa. I have sent the application off and recieved a letter back from DIMA on the 1st March 2004 saying they were processing the application and that it could take upto 50 weeks. Since then nothing! Does anyone know how long I can expect to wait? When will they ask for my police checks/ medical checks etc.. Is it likely to be the full 50 weeks.

Based on the new rules as of 1 july the processing will speed up hopefully..
we have to wait and see how things develop.

You are in longest waiting period, the next thing you get back will be police and med checks, ours requests came about 6 months after DIMIA received our application form.
Check the timelines for a rough idea.
