How long do I have once awarded a visa?

Hi all,

My partner and I are looking to migrate to Oz in the near future. If we apply for a residents visa and get awarded it, then how long after do we have to enter Oz? I think that I am right in thinking the first trip can be a research trip/holiday and then we have to be backin Oz by a certain time for good...

Does anyone know the time periods of all this?

Cheers :D

have a look at this post

Also have a look at ptlabs FAQS (top of this forum) re Return resident visa (lots of other useful info there too).

Also there is a load of info re the application part on the immigration forum, including agents who only post on that forum.

good luck & welcome :D
