How to get the most out of a two week rekkie in Perth
Hi
Hope i have posted this message in the correct place!
Just wondering if anyone can give us useful tips on getting the most out of our time in Perth on a rekkie next month?
Trying to find out if we would like to move to Perth, we are a family of 4, our boys are 6 and 4 years.
Husband is hopefully going to be working in Joondalup so we don't want to be too far from there.
If we decide to make the move, are we better finding a school for the boys first then a house to rent? Are the schools strict on catchment areas for the intake?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Can't help you with the school question but if you come over then you could go along to some of the ex-pat meet ups that you can find in that section.
When we did our rekkie we'd researched the areas that we thought we'd like and then it was great to visit areas that we 'knew' and either keep them on our list or cross them off. TBH we'd researched pretty well and ended up liking all the areas. We started with a list of what we wanted from an area and put them in order of importance to us. But nothing beats driving round an area, stopping for coffee, motel etc all in an area to get a feel for it.
Other than that visit Perth it's a lovely clean, family orientated city, visit the sights, Freemantle is a little further south and you can take a boat to get there, walk round the place, beach, old prison etc. it all helps form a gut feeling for a place and if it is right for you and your family. Enjoy you trip
