What I was trying to point out is that naturally clothing that is out in the uk or europe during our winter (December the height of Oz summer) would not come out at the same time in Oz as the seasons are totally reversed, therefore shops in Oz would not have fluffy warm shoes for sale when it is very likely to reach temps of 40 degrees or thereabouts in many parts of Oz.

Again it depends. You should meet my boss! He's a total 'metro'. In fact lots of my other half's mates are too, spend more money on clothes than any girl I know!! (my other half fits the Ozzie steriotype though - I had to confiscate a singlet he had with pictures of shagging crocodiles with the slogan 'Makin' Handbags' )

Chr1st on a bike, and i thought the UK had a problem.

Relax, some of us really love you. All these Europeans (Brits included) who come out to Australia and bring out all this great gear, especially Winter clothing, then find out that our Winter's are too warm for what you brought out. So you give it to the Red Cross or Sally's or whatever.

Then, us who know, when we are going to Europe/England over the winter period, pick up the right gear, appropriate clothes from second hand shops (drycleaned and mended) for next to nothing :-)

We wander around over there warm and appropriately dressed and watch our fellow countrymen (and women) gently freezing because they bought Australian Winter clothing.

Thanks.
