Does anyone know the answer to this. I had a big falling out with my landlord before I left the UK and I want to check they hadn't done anything w*nkerish?

There has been a thread on this just recently, and can't remember what it is called.

Is it expendian.co.uk ?? It's something along those lines. Have a check through past threads, otherwise someone will pop along soon who knows.

just apply for credit somewhere, in a store or something if you are black-listed you will be refused. Denise - hope this helps

There is no such thing as a blacklist.

Experian and Equifax systems contain a list of your bank accounts, credit cards, loans, CCJs etc. This is is held against the address. You may find someone else's record at your address and you can disassociate yourself from those people.

Each debt entry will have an entry with a number indicating how overdue the repayments are or have been before they were paid. At worst you will have a default marked by the debt.

Companies that subscribe to the list have use the credit checks (they may only use one agency and report to one agency) along with the info you provide to come up with a score to determine if you are credit worthy. Every lender has a different scoring method.

You can write to both agencies and pay a few pounds for a copy of your entries at the addresses you provide. I believe there maybe other agencies but Equifax and Experian are the 2 major players and you will need both reports to get the full picture.

BTW People with a satisfied default can get credit it just depends on the scoring system of the credit provider.
