Default How difficult is it to start your own business..........

as a carpenter and joiner in Perth.
I am originally from Wales and moved to West Sussex in England 20 years ago. For the last 18 years, I have been running my own business designing and building loft conversions and now employ 4 full time staff and 5 sub contract.
My TRA has been accepted and visas lodged and if we do emigrate this year, I fancy getting a job on site for 12 months, firstly to see how things are done over there and also not having to organize everyone else as i have been doing for the last 18 years.
I would eventually like to start up my own business again as it is in my nature, but was wondering how difficult it was to get started, would there be plenty of work and also is it easy to get trades to carry out work for you, or a bloody nightmare like it is in England (i.e. people being totally unreliable and lazy).
Would love to hear from anyone who has done something similar to the above and to get your feelings on it.

Starting up your own business in terms of the paperwork and legal aspects is extremely easy.

Skills' licences etc etc - no clue.
