Question How children friendly are Gold Coast pubs ?

Hi to all in Gold Coast,

It's just under 3 weeks before we go to Surfers Paradise, I'm just enquiring on how lenient the pub/bars are on letting kids in there, and what time they've got to be out.
I've just read back what i've wrote, and it sounds awful, it's not that we'll be sitting in a pub all day, quite the opposite, looking to suss the place out to hopefully live around that area in the future.
All we want to do is chill out in a pub/bar after a busy day, without the hassle of bar staff saying we have to leave, cos it's too late.
I know there's all the main attractions along the road which we'll be doing, but it's still nice to go for a couple of

Thanks

Steve.

You will have no worries they are children friendly, you may get some that don't allow kids in but the vast majority do. We were up o'mally's x-mas eve looking out on to the beach.

All Oz pubs are child friendly, the only areas you can't go into are those with pokies.

From what I gather, most places are fine but have a curfew. O'Malleys is usually 9pm. Perhaps they made an exception on Chribo?!?

Yes - they are slightly different though in that they are linked up statewide so are continually monitored that nobody is playing them out of licensing hours, etc and also can offer larger jackpots. My mum used to run a pub on the Gold Coast & she had to go to TAFE to do some sort of certificate to allow her to "manage" the pokies in her pub. They are pretty similar to the machines in Las Vegas casinos.

As others have said, most are very child friendly (unlike many in the UK), but there is a 9pm curfew in the liquor licensing laws.

Yes we have found 9pm to be the cut off, once did manage to hide him under table till 10pm. In surfers we found Gilhoolies and Lansdowns to be ok if you had kid.
