Default How about the Glass House Mountains and Mapleton as a place to live?

Hi

Still on the search for reasonable land in a nice place. We really want to be on the coast (Sunshine) but not looking hopeful with our budget. What is the Glass House Mountains like? Looks beautiful on the web but what is it like to live there, also how about Mapleton.

Thank you so much everyone, your advice on Nambour was great

I stayed with my friend in the Glasshouse Mountains last year when we validated the visas. At first I thought it was sort of isolated and I suppose it is if you like loads of facilities nearby, eg shopping centres, big supermarkets, several pubs to choose from etc. Can't comment on how it could be for kids as I don't have any so that wasn't an issue for me. However, we like the quiet life and it is quiet if you like a more rural lifestyle. One small grocery shop, one pub, a bakery, a newsagents and hardware store, that's about it. More facilities up the road at Beerwah, though, more shops and a woolies. I think it's a good location as it's between Mooloolaba/Maroochydore and Brisbane. We are considering it. Great views from many properties of the mountains and not a long drive from the coast. Sorry this isn't an in depth account, but I think personally it's a fairly good place, but we all have different aspirations.

Hi
Thanks for your help, I have been asking about other places as well recently. We fly in three weeks and are going to focus our search for jobs and land around the Sunshine coast. We are still also considering Townsville. What do you think of Beerwah and Mooloolaba? We didn't get a chance to look when we were over.

Thanks again

Out of interest what other areas are you considering? We want somewhere relatively quiet, we have no children yet and would only want to be 20-30 minutes max from a good beach.

We are also checking out all places on the coast between sunshine coast and Brisbane (hubby wants a boat so not too far from the water. As we lived on the Sunshine Coast temporarily a few years back, we know the commute to Brisbane was a bit tough, being about an hour low peak. We may still need access to Brisbane when we go back, but want the quiet life, so are looking in the Caboolture district, wich covers across to the coast eg Donnybrook and surrounds. There are loads of small areas to consider. Mooloolaba I would give a miss if I were you. Now very commercialised and expensive.
Beerwah is great, not a long drive to the coast and it seems you can get a good deal for your money on the property.

Cheers

Kitty

Just agreeing with previous comments, Glasshouse, Beerwah are all ok with nice areas, I assume you meant Mooloolah and not Mooloolaba? Mooloolah is just up the road from Landsborough it again is a nice quite area.
