House prices (UK) pick up
For those anxious about house prices, this article in today's "Telegraph" sounds hopeful:

The reality seems a bit different though, with buyers offering stupid sums well below the asking price. I'd be happy with the "average house price" figure.

Our house is going on the market in January so hopefully prices will hold. We got hit by the last housing crash and don't fancy it happening again.

I hope it crashes and does so big style. Then my friends in the UK who can't afford to get on the market can do so.
Maybe then the government will cap prices on housing.
Oh and kill all estate agents.

I am going to auction my UK property next month and get out of the market before it unravels any further. It's a gamble but I have no confidence that the market can sustain the current price levels over the next couple of years never mind rise...

Re: House prices (UK) pick up
I'm not convinced about it... probably due to the painful past 6 months of trying to sell our house. Two buyers have pulled out and we are now considering an offer 12.5% lower than the original asking price - may not seem much but £25K would go a long way for us!! We did think about going out to validate and then re-marketing in Feb - but we don't want to risk it..
