House Mortgage
Hi everyone,
We are moving to Tasmania on the 25th July. My husband will still be paid wages for 4 months so we hope to find a house to rent as soon as we can. In November my husband will receive a lump sum payment for serving in the Armed Forces for 23 years. We want to use this to buy a property with, but we will also need a small mortgage.
On leaving the forces my husband also receives a monthly pension until he dies, so at least we will have a small income coming in just in case we can't get jobs straight away.
Will the banks in Oz take this into consideration to enable us to get a small mortgage?
Any help would be appreciated.
Also does anyone know of any decent affordable guesthouses/motels etc that we could stay in until we find somewhere to rent, and also do you have to rent for 6 months or is there a specified time scale you have to sign to?
