Ok guys n gals who have you used for your contents insurance and were they any good ???

I have combined buildings and contents with the Commonwealth Bank and it costs me $62 per month.

We use SGIO for all our insurance: so building, contents and car - you get a discount if you use them for more than one.
Cant say I've had any complaints but (touch wood!) havent needed to make a claim yet. Found them cheaper than QBE or any of the alternatives too.

AAMI - found them cheapest for contents-only policies. No problems with them so far after 18 months.

we're with budget direct, for the house and both vehicles
they too give good discount if you have more than 1 insurance with them

Just out of interest:
Do the policies from the insurance companies above cover you for/against bush fires destroying/damaging the house, garden and contents?

Alliance for car and house contents, accidental damage is covered and we definatly needed that part for the dog

Good question the only exception in the westpac book under fire says loss or damage due to scorching or melting where there was no flame !

NRMA - and they paid up with a new laptop when the previous one got fried via the phone line in an electrical storm.
Have not had to claim on any of the other policies.

Well rang round all the main companies and we are staying with ING best cover and best price for our needs !
