They're still saying May, but I think it'll be before that, although we've got to get our guys in to do flooring etc. Mark and his mates did the fencing and saved heaps of $$$'s. We were quoted 7-12k for the fencing and we did it for $1200 - that's with the neighbours chipping in. Flooring is the next big expense why so expensive for timber???

and then we turned up and the kitchens and bathrooms were being fitted! Some things have puzzled me tho. So they paint afterwards? Having renovated before, we always found it easier to paint before anything was fitted? Weird, but hey its not us having to do it

They said the completion date is 17th May,but the tradies have all been told to get a shuffle on as completion is end march - mid april, so who knows lol We've still got to get the sparky in and Pele to do the flooring, plus the laundry has to be fitted out. We're in the rental until the 27th May so loads of time.

Well this weekend we start the big pack up. We move in in 4 weeks. I can't believe how quickly it's gone. Now the hard work starts, the landscaping and decorating. Have to say, we would DEF build again, and plan to build a low set in a few years once the boys have left home (they'll leave eventually right?) I'll take some pics and update post once it's all done and finished. Totally cost of build to date has been $318,000 and we paid $155,000 for the land. We still have the wooden floorings to do, which we 'think' will come in around $12,000 and the landscaping and decorating around $10,000. It's still much cheaper to do it this way than if we purchased in the area. xxxxx
