Default house building

ok i know i;m getting abit ahead of myself as havent got our visa yet, but got to have something to think about. my oh is a self employed builder and does everthing bricklaying, plumbing, carpentry e.t.c ( think you get the idea!). we would love to build our own house when we eventually get to the sunsine coast, what are the regs on doing the work yourself?

I think you will find it a bit different in aus. Each trade you have to have a licence to carry out that work. I am a plumber and when installing bathrooms here i do everything from plumbing to tiling but have been told that i will only beable to install bathroom suite and wiil need a licenced tiler for the tiling. Not sure if this will be the same for bricklaying etc.
