Default Hotels for less than $50 a night

Hi
I am looking for hotels/motels in Melbourne (not necessary in CBD even 25KM away of the CBD is ok)
for less than $50, do you recommend any?

Thanks

You'll be lucky finding any - for that amount you're looking at a shared room in a youth hostel.

Ibis Budget do rooms at $79 a night, and they are really basic - not room to swing a cat in there. You won't get tcheaper than that.

I'd probably look at http://www.wotif.com/hotels/cheap-ac...melbourne.html

but you'd be looking at backpacker places for that rate, if you were lucky.

Ha, ha, ha! Not likely! Formule1 used to be the cheapest around but even they are close to $80 pn. Check out Wotif for sure but perhaps revise your budget upwards somewhat

Really! I've been gone too long. They were good for a cheap week if you didn't mind residing on an industrial estate and not having a fridge.

Thanks
I can offer you a self-contained studio apartment for $68 per night -please PM me your email address if you would like further details and photos.

Less than $50 is probably unachievable.

The one I drive past on the way to work has been rebadged anyway. Never used them in Australia but have in France, where they are ultra-cheap if a bit grim and in crap locations
