Default Hotel nearish airport?

Hey anyone recommend a half decent hotel for 4 adults and 1 child nearish the airport in Brisbane for just for 1 night? Coming from Hervey Bay in the north.

There are a lot of hotels on Kingsford Smith Drive. From memory (I haven't been to Brisbane for a few months) there aren't any hotels on the airport complex itself.

I've stayed at the Airolodge a couple of times. It's not too far from the airport and is close to a whole bunch of restaurants and a convenience store. It's not exactly a 5* hotel, but does the job.

Alternatively, stay in the CBD. Trains to/from the airport are fairly regular buy if you have a lot of luggage, this may not be an option.

Cheers

Steve

If it's really just a room for the night you need then the Formule 1 is right on the motorway, right beside the airport. It would be basic, but relatively modern.

You'd get 2A + 1 child in one room and 2A in another.

Hey Ange, we stayed in the Formule 1 4 weeks ago when we arrived from the Uk and it was ok - like the other poster said it was very basic but clean and only $80 a night for a room. The room we had consisted of a double bed with a single bunk above it.

Room & ensuite were very basic but clean and the staff were great. Certainly not like the "Grand" hotels we discussed!!
