Hi my parents have used this one before and are staying in it again when they arrive this week:

Sanno Marracoonda Motel
375 Great Eastern Highway
REDCLIFFE WA 6104
Phone: (+618) 9277 7777
Fax: (+618) 9479 1521
Email: [email protected]

The prices we were quoted was between $129 - $109 depending on what size room you want.

They will pick you up from the airport too.

Just writing this at Perth airport...waiting for my flight back to Sydney. Agree with any on Great Eastern Highway...chose from Formule 1 (pretty dire), Comfort Hotel, Great Eastern Motel, 'Flags Motel'.

Last night I paid $160 for a room that had a double bed and two singles in the Great Eastern Motel.

I find that generally Perth & WA Hotels/Motels are more expensive than anywhere in Australia.

We've stayed at both the Formule 1 and Comfort Inn hotel. Formule 1 was terrible so definitely spend a little more and stay at the Comfort Inn which also operates a free 24hr pick up from the airport.

Yes, but are high outwith school holidays also. Perth is known for high hospitality and entertainment prices. Its a burden we have to bear in WA.

Everywhere is more expensive during school holidays, but still find Perth and other WA hotels/motels proportionaly more expensive than other States.

BTW, I spend about 10-12 nights a month away from home travelling Oz & NZ, so I think I've got a pretty good feel for overall rates.

Perth is renowned for its accommodation shortages. In fact shortages of most things given the boom we have had in the last few years. Taxis, wait staff, engineers spring to mind immediately. In some ways this recession is helping!

As for hotels, there are dozens along the Gt Eastern - mostly motel style. I drive past on my way to the domestic airport regularly and there are a couple of nicer ones, but probably more expensive. The Ascot is one I can recall.

I have to admit, I don't understand why people want to stay near the airport. For the sake of 20 minutes in a cab I would stay in the city, Freo, Scarborough...
