I'm assuming that ours must have both because you can programme the thing on hot/warm/cold cycles.
All of these (from an electrical chain store) have various heat controls.

Yes, btu the guy who plumbed mine in didn't connect it. I did later when I realised.

So it's ok for guys to reply to threads about washing when it involves machines (Tool Time Tim - Rarrrgh), but the actual use of them is women's work?

Thanks for yr replies. Many have expressed in earlier discussions abt their discontent that top loaders dont wash as clean. Have you noticed any better results after connecting/using hot water in the wash?
