Cool HOT, HOT, HOT (Perth)

It's currently 40.9 degrees Celsius in Perth Metro.

It's nearly just as hot on Rottnest, which means there's no sea breaze.... It's quite a strong easterley breeze, coming to us from the dessert...!!

Mandurah is 38.1

And Swanbourne (beach near city) is 41.3!!!!

It's 3.30 at the moment, hope it cools down from about 5...

Any kids or tradies home from school/work?

Phew what a scortcher.

I finished my game of squash and 45 minutes and 3 showers later I was still apologising to the people I was meeting at work for looking like a sweaty character from out of "it aint half hot mum"

Sounds good to me although I suppose that really is a bit hot.
Less than two weeks until we arrive I wonder if it will be just as hot.
Better slap the sunscreen and the hats on when we arrive then.
One question is do you get fed up with it or does it cool down a bit some days?

You're not wrong Simone!
It's bloody roasting!

You've said before that you don't have aircon in the car or at home.
I don't envy you tonight!

It's actually fairly breezy in Perth at the moment. It's just that it's an easterly wind coming off the desert, so the wind feels like opening an oven door.

Cool change tomorrow, (if you can call it that). Max 29.

Here's another link for just the Perth stations:

niiice. good job our new house over west has air con! the one we're in in canberra doesn't and it's been a bit painful at times in the last few weeks with day after day around 35 ish. (it's cooled down now - only 28.2 here in my study!)

It says 41.4 now!

Renth, you're mad!

Just like the people I saw walking around Lake Monger yesterday......

Dreamaway, it's usually only a few days, though Febuary can be really bad, and we're only halfway.
Well, it isn't pleasant, but it's all bearable if you're not working outside.

I don't have aircon in the car(yet, keeps breaking...) so that's a bit annoying. Usually it's ok with the wind blowing through, but it's a very hot wind now.

House is reasonably ok, because old with high ceilings, and cheap fans from WA Salvage help. Have the fan on all night. At night it's probably about 25 in the house, so ok.

I wouldn't trust a cheap fan form WA salvage not to set the house on fire.

Well, they're only on when we're in that room, and I wake up at every noise, so I'd hope I'd wake up if something went wrong.....

They seem fine though, were about 15-20 bucks.

The car was registering 51C at Whitfords, now I don't belive that but I can tell you it is in the 40s for certain. I am in an air conditioned room now and it is still 30C (says my watch)
Sunbathing is certainly not on the cards today.

Oo how exciting - reinforces my wish for air con when we get there! It was snowing here at the weekend - had to abort a family walk due to the blizzard conditions - repaired to the pub for a steak in front of a roaring fire instead.

How my world is going to change. Sigh.

No kiddos home from school today, Simone but then, they've got air-con at school! Probably cooler than I was all day!

The rule seems to be... 3 days over 40 in a row = pupil free day on the 4th day.

Dying a slow death here.... my canadian blood just can't deal with this type of heat....I'm going for a swim the second the sun moves out of the pool area...lol
