hiya,
Wow!!! that was a long question. We have just got our 457 visa but ours was independent exec which i think takes longer than normal 457. Ours took 6 weeks 2 days from arriving at AC to dropping onto my doormat (actually i stalked the poor postman for the last 3 days - poor man!!!).
We sent for police checks before even filled th 1066 etc forms out as it takes 6 weeks for. Book meds and xrays soonish too as panel docs seem to get booked up pretty quick and can take 6 weeks t get appointment.
We are heading off to Brisbane too so will be interested in the replys you get.
