Hope for sparks
Well we've been here errr.... let me think 8 weeks now and everything seems to be going ok so far.
Hubby has work...he started there last Monday. In fact he had the choice of 2 jobs!!!! And that's without his licence too!!! The pay's a bit crap but he's been told when he gets his licence his pay is negotiable. His job title is 'trades assistant' as he can't work as an official spark yet. The job he took wasn't officially advertised, he just went through the sunshine coast yellow pages and fired his cv off to a load of companies he thought might be able to employ him...and hey presto it's paid off!!!
He's also about to begin the next stage of getting his licence sorted. He submitted his certificates to TRA and they've now issued him with his TRA certificate. He's doing his rescusitation course on the 18th June, after that he can get on with putting his application in. We've been told by a mate of ours (also a uk spark) that the licence can take months to get so we're understandably relieved that he has work!!!
So to all you sparks out there, the work's out there for you...even without your licence...

Congrats, yet another sunshine coast family fixed up employment wise.
See in todays paper the sunshine coast needs to build another 5000 homes a year! just to keep up with population growth, looks like you landed in the right place then

Thanks Donna!
Mr Artep has been asked to work today.....normally its a mon-fri job. Lets hope they're paying him good!! It seems expected here to do 'work for love'....he's supposed to finish work at 4 each day....he's yet to do that!! But we can't complain....at least our savings aren't being drained as much!!
