Hope to move sunshine coast area!
Hi, we are looking to move 30 to 60 mins north of Brisbane (Buderim, Mountain Creek area) as this ticks our boxes on wish list. However it is like looking for a needle in a haystack choosing an area to live in. Does anyone have a better idea of what we can expect from that area? We have young children (3 & 8) and are worried about it being to geriatric (no offence) as an area to grow up and be a teenager in. Any replies welcome, thanks xx

The Sunshine Coast is a beautiful place to live in. Teenagers seem to keep themselves busy doing teenager things! My son goes surfing a lot and that keeps him occupied he also goes to youth groups on a Friday night.
The hardest thing to find living here is a job. If you are a tradesman then you should be fine but other jobs are very hard to come by. Many people have sussed this is a fab place to live and are moving up here interstate. Also it is quite hard to find a house to rent so allow lots of time to do this. House prices are more realistic here now and it is a buyers market so if you are looking to buy you might get a bargain.
Good luck to you on your journey. We left Dec 2003 and still wake up each morning in love with this place. No emigration is easy but at least the surroundings are fantastic!!

We have just got our Visas. Hubby is an electrician and we are hoping to settle in Buderim just as soon as the house is sold. Nice to hear that if you are a tradesmen you should be able to find work. This has worried us a bit, because Buderim area seems to tick our boxes. If we haven't sold by end Sept, we are validating at the end of Oct and will go and check Buderim and surrounding area out. Good luck with TRA.
