Cool Honeymoon Pictures

When we got married back in December we had lots of people come over from the UK so we couldn't really get away for a honeymoon.

So I organised a surprise honeymoon for my wife last week. I arranged for her time off work, booked all the flights etc. I was planning on not telling her until the day we left, but I was too excited and only managed to keep it quiet for 2 days before I cracked and had to say something!

Still the thought was there, and it still was a surprise!

Anyway I whisked her away to Orpheus Island on the Great Barrier Reef (http://www.orpheus.com.au), about 80kms North of Townsville.

Here are some pics of the trip, there's about 25 that I have to upload so it will take me a little while. Enjoy!

BTW The website for the resort has some cracking pics that put mine to shame, so it's worth checking them out as well!

We flew from Perth to Brisbane, Brisbane to Townsville where we caught a seaplane that would take us to the Island.

Here are a couple of shots of Brisbane.

Once in Townsville it was onto the seaplane for the short 20min flight to the Island.

The next couple of pics are of the resort, you can just about see it hidden in the trees.

The resort itself is fairly small as the majority of the Island is a national park. The maximum number of guests they have is 42 (which was one of the attractions of going there). However, when we stayed there were just 6 guests (including us) on the Island!

The Island airport didn't have too many facilities, but it served it's function!

You can just make out the restaurant in this picture. Everything is open so you have a true sense of dining outside!
