It's many, many years since I lived in the UK, but just recently I've started feeling very nostalgic for England and I would love to return for an extended period of time.

I have been considering a house swap and I was wondering if anyone else on this site has swapped their house and whether it was a good or bad experience. Also, is it possible to get reasonably priced rentals in the Uk for a few months only.

I did a home swap 2 yrs ago. We swapped homes and cars for 4 weeks. I advertised my home on this UK website:

I had several offers for a swap, but eventually settled on a house near Southampton. It was a good experience that I would definitely repeat. My home is in the US, but there were many people looking for swaps in Australia.

Ozzie, I think there is something like that on BE, sure I saw it somewhere, sometime!

I'd love to do a home swap, but as the person would be sharing with the 19 year old stepson and the ifitmoveseatit golden retriever, I don't like my chances

LOL re the nutters, I'm a few years away from doing this yet, because of the same reasons as SoS.... However it's a very appealing idea upon retirement.

I'll be taking time to look at these homeswap dedicated sites as well as the Grey Nomads ones now

The BE classifieds seems more dedicated to permanent home swapping.

They look permanent and most of them are in Spain. There seems to be a number of sites for holiday house swapping and the comments that I have read so far sound positive. Certainly seems worth considering when the major cost of a holiday is the accommodation.
