Holiday Insurance in Oz
Just taken a look at the cost of holiday insurance from within Australia. Even with the same company in the UK and Australia, the costs in Oz are 2-3 times the UK cost.
Anyone know where/how to get an annual policy for less than $200 ?

One for under $200 came up on this site, ex USA cover, with QBE.
Perhaps travel insurance is more expensive in Australia as the average overseas trip is longer / further away than the average trip taken by a UK resident.

So why are annual policies with exactly the same rules re time out of the country, at least twice as expensive?....rip off Australia again.

I don't know why, I was just suggesting that perhaps it is because people need to travel further away to go overseas and hence repatriation costs are higher.

Get yourself a CBA Gold credit card. Fee is $114 a year. Comes with free International Travel Insurance (as long as you pay for the tickets with said card).

Amex do travel insurance with some of their cards too. Problem is the level of cover is poor (don't know about CBA but I'm guessing it would be pretty bad). I always end up taking out an extra policy over and above the "insurance" provided by the card.
