Smile Holiday Inn or Adelaide Hilton

Which one's better - location wise? - price-wise not much difference.

Also any 'must do' tips for Adelaide ?

Planning our vacation

Thanks!

I think it would depend on your age ,i guess? .
The Hilton is facing on to Victoria square, close to central market [ great for coffee in the mornings] Holiday inn is on Hindley Street, can get very noisy on the week ends, lots of pubs and clubs, the darker side of Adelaide, if there is such a thing the sa tourist bureau web site has lots of sight seeing ideas................................... mm

Thanks!! Prefer not to be in a seedy area - 2 young kids. I think Hilton it is then.
By the way do you have any idea of the scenery if we do the trip to&from Adelaide-Melbourne by train?

Cheers

I'd go for the Hilton, esp with children. Much nicer.

Any train trip is fabulous in Aus... you don't have to do the driving and the scenery is wonderful. Went from Sydney to Adelaide last year and it was great.

Thanks iPom Will do the Hilton - 3 nights. Are 2 days enough in Adelaide (with 1 day in Kangaroo island)?

Did you go via Melbourne to Adelaide?

Adelaide Hilton wins hands down for me. Central location too, dab smack in the middle of the CBD.

U can cover adelaide city/north adelaide on foot and catch a tram to glenelg beach all in a day easy, but would want say 3 days so u have time to explore adelaide hills, barrossa valley (sample some great wines and scenery).

Check with tourist info when u arrive or amybe do a net search on sth aussie tourism.

Must do for Adelaide?

Just back from a recce........

Use the library in North Terrace for free internet access (broadband) and even better bring your own laptop and plug in.

Grab a copy of the 'Hip pocket guide' of Adelaide form the library or tourist info as it has loads of things to do, many free.

Last, visit Glenelg and get a $70 parking ticket, like me.

Thanks a ton Kiwichild and Stephen . Will check it out.

We won't have our car, so no worries about a parking ticket or driving on the wrong side of the road

The Hilton!

Just walk out of the door for the tram to the beach at Glenelg, pubs/theatres around, etc.

Don't like HI beds anyway!
