Moved into Hillarys 4 months ago and after trying to sort out house, school etc now ready to meet new people. Going for a coffee and a chat would be so exciting to me right now. I read somewhere there was a meetup group in Hillarys on a Thursday, is this still ongoing?

Welcome to the site!

Why not check out the 'meet ups in Australia' forum listed at the top of the page - you may be able to find a group of people in your local area there who are up for a meet up.

I'm a student based in Mandurah : ).

Mandurah, is a tourist area pretty much so it's always busy but it has wonderful shops and cafes, with the foreshore being it's main component.
