Default Hilton`s have arrived!!!

We have been on the gold coast for 4 weeks now and are renting a unit in
Helensvale. We have bought a 4 bedroom house in Pacific Pines which we
are moving into on 12th Jan (can`t wait). We have been really busy but
luckily my husband found a job in the second week and we have enrolled our
boys (15 and 17 almost 18) into Pacific Pines high school, and hopefully then
they will make some friends and begin to get a social life. We have bought 2
cars and some bits and pieces for the house but are waiting to move in to get
a feel for the place and see what we need.

All in all, so far so good.

I`m sorry this is so short but I`m in a library and don`t have much time. I
will come back in on Monday and post again and answer any questions that
anybody might have.

Bye for now

Glad to see things are sorting themselves out. A wee question for you about the cars. What sort of costs did you pay?

Thanks

Sounds great. Glad you're settling in ok.
Any info on Pacific Pines would be fab please. Our kids maybe going to the same school, so any info on that school would also be useful.

Hi, my husband bought a 1995 Mitsubishi Magna. He paid $8,400 for it and I
bought a 2001 Ford KA and I paid $7000 for mine. The only thing that I would
say is that the price advertised on the car isn`t what you actually pay cause
they have to add other expenses on top, so we told them what we were
prepared to pay as a drive away price and negotiated and got the cars for
what we wanted to pay.

Hope this helps.

We have friends who came out here in August and who are currently renting
in Helensvale and so we found a rental in Helensvale and just happened to
fall in love with a house that we viewed in Pacific Pines. It is a really new
area, the school was the first thing there to be built I think and that was
only 5 years ago. Some of Pacific Pines is still very unfinished but the
area we are buying in is finished and we really like it. It is really hilly though
and I am a bit worried that the Ford KA will struggle!

The school seems really nice and the kids get to choose their subject and
so if they are not very academic they can choose what they call non-authorative subjects and if they are academic they can choose authorative
subjects, also if they don`t enjoy one of the courses they have chosen
they can change the subject at any time.

Hope this helps.

Hi Tracey - its kerry - i met you at one of Janes coffee mornings back in essex! Glad your over and you sound like you are sorted - much more than we all are - hope the kids are settling well. We are fine and enjoying it all! Just put my tree up in a bikini (me not the tree!) - its a bit surreal! Spoke to Jane the other day - what a nightmare with Lee she had!!!

Maybe we will get together one day if we ever make it up north for a holiday!

Godd luck and take care of yourselves.
