High performance car insurance
Any recommendations? We've tried Shannons but the quotes we are getting are about 4x what we paid in the UK.....

Re: High performance car insurance
I recently had a Lotus Esprit S4 Turbo, and Shannons were by far the cheapest, it was a personal import too. I replaced that with a Jaguar XKR, and that was also insured with Shannons - I am not sure you will get much better in Oz for Performance cars. I found that many of the insurance companies wouldn't even quote to insure them. I have found that your postcode has a lot to do with insurance prices, it can almost double if you live in some parts of Sydney.

We ended up with a recommendation for a broker. The Mercedes premium was about 40% cheaper than Shannons but the Porsche one was about the same, although Shannons' prices required us to take out contents insurance which the broker one did not. If anyone wants contact details, let me know.

God, I love the Esprit - probably one of my favourite cars of all time. I know they can often be picked up in the UK at reasonable prices, and I've variously considered shipping one back here, though I sadly don't have access to a garage, which has always put me of...
