It can be done in two days, HIFX also use Barclays, so when you transfer your UK pounds to cover your dollar purchase it clears immediately, no waiting days. Tell them you have a Barclays account and the payment will be instant, we always did our transfers in two days when we had UK pounds to sell.

Re: hifix questions

We transferred money to HiFX on Thursday (via Barclays), got an email from them that evening and our bank in Australia is showing the money there today. So that's two working days.

We transferred with HiFX from Halifax Bank to Westpac. We had neither UK bank charges nor Australian Bank charges.

This is normal, I appreciate the security but it is a pain. Lloyds is the same.

Ask them if a fax would do it. Hopefully you can fax it over to them. Explain your in a hurry.

Good luck,

Bear in mind though that you might get a better exchange rate if you are transferring over a (bigger) lump sum rather than a number of smaller amounts.

No what you do is ring up agree a price and then hifx and ozforex will wait until you have the correct funds in their account and will then send you the previously agreed money.

We did some larger transactions that way.
