Where on the coast are you? We have just moved to Manly about 2 months ago and have bought the Pet Shop in Orewa.
Pop in if you have time (it's in the square)

Hi Simon
We have moved to Whangaparoa. There are some new houses just behind the Crows nest pub. Stay in touch and maybe hubbie and I can meet up with you for a drink??

Re: Hi there from the Hibiscus Coast!!
Hi Marlyn
I'm hoping to be moving to Auckland in Nov/Dec with my wife and young son (and dog). I used to live in NZ but my knowledge of Auckland is very limited. We have been looking at the East Coast Bays as a place to live, but the Whangaparoa area looks nice too. I'll be working in Devonport and can put up with 30 minutes or so of commuting each way. Could you (or anyone else) answer a few questions:
- Is whangaparoa commutable from Devonport at rush hour?
- Is it a lively, friendly community or predominantly holiday houses and retirees?
- What's it like for schools/kindergartens?
Thanks

They have now split Aus from NZ so people there may not see this. Try posting it on the NZ forum and you should get good response.

Oops - thanks - I had found this thread by doing a search for Whangaparoa and hadn't noticed it was in the Oz section.
