Default Hervey Bay/ Maryborough

Does anybody know what the Hervey Bay/Maryborough areas are like?
Look nice on the websites I've found but never been. Have enquired about a job there. I have 2 teenage daughters and a son of 9 who would need things to do. Also decent schools.

Hi
Hi We have been to Hervey bay a few times on holiday, it is a relatively quiet holiday town, with lots of old people. most people go there only because it it the gate way to Fraser Island, but we liked it. But have no idea about job opportunities. Not much help really!
Regards Kate

As others have said very quiet areas, do you want me to be honest? I hope it wont be taken the wrong way but not somewhere I would move to with teens. To understand why look very closly into job prospects, sugar cane, very tiny amount of tourism, there is very high unemployment and most local kids would have to leave to get work. The housing is incredibly cheap,if you can provide your own employment go for it tho as long as you are looking for the quiet life.

If you want coastal much closer to bris with much better job prospects look at the sunshine coast?

Thanks. I was starting to think that it sounds a bit like a retirement area. I think I'll give it a miss. It's a nightmare trying to find somewhere to settle. This site is really good for advice on such things. I will continue with my search!

Why not put down here what your main objectives are, climate required, line of work, housing budget, social activities and lots of poeple may make suggestions on areas.
