This might be a dodgy thing to post... however, I'm wondering if there are any Brits who've moved to Australia, and then upped sticks to go to Canada?

We have thought about it but not got much further - its the process to get into Canada that puts us off. It seems the only way in (other than very long wait) is with a job offer - according to posts on Canada thread. My husband who has had his own business for 25 yrs has said too long in the tooth to work for someone else - what happens if you hate the job ? You either have to leave Canada (+ 2 kids and me), maybe find someone else willing to offer you permanent job and then get permanent residency. I'm not completely sure this is just my understanding as previous poster said loads of info on Canada forum. Good luck and will be interesting to see how many have made the move.

Blimey, they have way too much snow up there Definitely have a nosey around the Canada forums. There's a few Canadians who are now in Aus though. Comet and Dorothy to name but two

What kind of info are you hoping to find out? The countries are fairly similar but the obvious difference is the weather. In my opinion it's probably the deciding factor for most people. If you don't like cold winters (-20 or so) for 6 months of the year then Canada is probably not for you. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

There are also few threads in the Canada section that might be of interest. I believe there's a member named "Judy in Calgary" that lived in Australia for quite a few years and then moved to Canada. She's very helpful so I'm sure she'd answer all your questions.
