Help with transfer of Qualifications ?
 

Dear all,

I came to Sydney in July on an employers sponsored visa and am looking at transferring my UK quals to here. I have concerns that all my quals gained in UK are useless here if I put them on a CV. Even down to my ECDL qual.

How do I go about converting them to Aussie quals to assist me with job hunting in the future?

Any advice please.

What do you do for a profession ?

You wont necessarily need to transfer your qualifications and in most cases you cant anyhow. The only thing worth considering is if you have a specific trade qualification for example.

You can have your qualifications assessed by NOOSR, they do Education and Vocational qualifications above 'level 3' on the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). Level 3 is around the NVQ Level 3 / HNC area.

Having your quals assessed will help clarify for you and your potential employer what your quals are 'worth'

In the NT the NOOSR assessment is free if you do it through the NT Govt, dept of multicultural affairs. I don't know about other states/territories.

Thanks guys for that advice. I am in same boat as Nige I am ex Brit Army now ADF in Sydney. I am only guessing from the badge.

I will try NOOSR.
