HELP!!!! Tell Merlot where to go?????
OK, going round in circles again, back to Oz sometime in 2006
To those who have moved and settled in Oz your choices please.
Initially back to live with MIL in Sussex Inlet, South NSW but after then where would a mid 30's couple, one cat, no kids be best suited . . . back to Sydney?? Or another place & state entirely????
PLEASE give me your hard sell as we have no idea????

Hey there Merlot
I voted Victoria (Melbourne) because it is cosmopolitan, very hip and I feel has an enormous amount to offer. Incidentally, we have two kids, but I still feel that had we not had any kids we would have wanted to come to victoria to explore all that it has to offer - grand prix, tennis, commonwealth games, loads of culture, markets, not to mention during winter you can ski only two hours out of melbourne. It truly has everything!!!
I probably should add that I don't live there yet but have visited and that is where we hope to be in Jan/Feb 2006!

You would see almost the lot.
Then you could start another thread with a rivetting Title, "Is it best to travel around Australia clockwise or anti-clockwise"

I've just put my vote in, and of course it had to be QLD
But then, even if it was QLD, you'd then have to decide which part

Re: HELP!!!! Tell Merlot where to go?????
Depends what you want from life. If career is important to you that'll play a big part in where you can live but if you are happy to go anywhere and do anything then go wild. I have never had so much fun as the time I spent in Country New South Wales. I love the bits of Oz outside the cities (I love the cities too but in my mind a city is a city, you can cross the world pretty much without breaking stride) What an exciting thought that you can go absolutely anywhere.
If all good advice fails just pick somewhere with a funny name. How about Wagga Wagga!!?!? (Actually I've been there and it's great!)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you didn't live in Sydney Metro area did you? I thought you were on the Central Coast.

Re: HELP!!!! Tell Merlot where to go?????
I voted Vic, but I dont mean Melbourne!!
I am trying to recruit more Expats to Bendigo so I can go to a meet thats only a few minutes from my house for a change!!
Actually, all joking aside Bendigo is a great City. The only thing its missing is its own beach. It has great nightlife, restaurants, cheaper housing, museums & art gallaries, goldrush history, the weather is dryer than Melbourne but its still only 1 1/2 hours from Melbourne CBD.
I think everyone should move here!!
