HELP PLEASE NEIGHBOUR RUINING HOUSE OPENS
PLEASE HELP
We recently put our house on market and need to sell due to husbands redundancy. We had our first open today which was ruined by a lady, her daughter and sister who live a few houses away. Apparently the sister wanted to buy the property a few years ago(when we bought it,but we overbid them at auction. we have since done a ton of work inside and out (acreage) to it so obviously its price has gone up! Anyway they all arrived at start of our open and stayed the whole length of it telling everyone here about how we only bought it for $$xxx at auction 3 years ago and loudly complaining about everything we had done, didnt like floors, bathrooms etc etc.The upshot is that they want to buy it cheaper than it is on the market and are using opens to put other people off How do we stop them turning up each time? without a scene so upset right now |
Re: HELP PLEASE NEIGHBOUR RUINING HOUSE OPENS
Call the cops, and have an injunction taken out against them.

If they persist, then you can apply for a misconduct order through the courts http://www.courts.dotag.wa.gov.au/R/...ng_orders.aspx I don't know what your chances of obtaining an order would be, but the threat may be enough to deter the buggers. Good luck. |

Does a real estate agent conduct the home opens? If so, I'd be instructing him/her that these people aren't permitted inside your home - you're perfectly within your rights to do so, it's still your home.

Only trouble with involving the courts is that you then have to disclose you had issues with a neighbour and the possible purchaser could then be put off because you have awkward neighbours.
By calling the cops, you are just reporting a trespass matter. I agree, ask the agent to disallow these people on the property, however this is difficult on an acreage property. Unless there are 2 agents, one at the gate and one to show buyers round. Good Luck |

Are you legally obliged to tell prospective purchasers if it's a misconduct order, not a violence restraining order? If so, then agreed that it could put people off. Catch22 :( Here's hoping that it can resolved before it needs to get to that stage :)

Re: HELP PLEASE NEIGHBOUR RUINING HOUSE OPENS
Why would she try and lower the value of your house? If she owns a house a few away then surely she wants the houses around her to sell for as much as possible.
