Default Help please in Adelaide.

Hi, have just heard that we haven't secured the On Arrival Accommodation.

We are leaving the Uk in 3 weeks and need somewhere to stay. :scared:

Anybody got any info regarding cheapish rentals (short term if poss) in decentish areas.

Any help and advice greatly appreciated.

Hi Rach,

we have just been back from our reccie holiday, we stayed in Big 4 holiday resort in Adelaide, our cabin was tight as we were there during their school holidays they couldn't offer us a bigger accommodation, but I highly recommend them, as its so close to everything and the price was very reasonable, and my children loved it so much they never wanted to leave the resort. Here is their website, hope this site would help you.

http://www.adelaideshores.com.au/Default.htm

good luck, we loved it in Adelaide hope you enjoy it there , I hope the weather is better for you as we did freeze during our holiday, luckily i did take couple hot water bottles and lots warm clothes.

We stayed in the Adelaide Oakford apartments. Really close to centre of Adelaide and on public transport lines. Houses are basic but have everything you need. We booked for 3 weeks on our reccie and stayed in a 1-bed in Dulwich. They also have 3-beds at Frewville (also close to city)

Ditto .. there is a huge FAQ section .. When we arrived we stayed at Nunyara Holiday Units in Belair, very small units, but everything you need .. I think it was around $70 a night: Nunyara Units

Also popular are the cabins in the caravan parks. Brighton is lovely, right on the beach.

Have a look here: AdelaideBrits - Accomodation - Edit - Sorry just realised this is a member only section! But it is free and no obligation etc. to join up!

Good luck with the move!

So sorry to hear you didn't get OAA. It's so hard with kids, isn't it? If it were just the 2 of you it would be different and I'm sure you wouldn't be as worried. I know that's what we said, at least.
Check out ozstays. We found a beautiful beach house in Aldinga Beach for our first week and it was very reasonable. I'm sure you will find something on there even if it's only for a couple of weeks until you get your long term rental sorted. Good luck.

Hi Rach, we stayed in the TAFT motor inn, in Glenelg, its on Moseley street, just off Jetty Road, we got a room for 3 people for $65 per night for the 3 of us (it started off as $100 per night). They are friendly people.
The area is great, plenty of shops, bars and places to eat.

Hi Dot, It is a worry with kiddies. we have booked into Adelaide Shores for the first week. We decided that as we have all been looking forward to this for so long that we wanted their first impressions to be really cool and didn't want to rely on a rental we hadn't seen.

Maybe catch up for a beer.

I've added you to my messenger.

Its a 3 bedroom house. 3 bathrooms.Central heating and a fire place. Any term welcome, a week to a few months. Just bought the house, but we will not be living in it. We wanted to use it for students accomidation once its orginised. So you would probably have the whole house for yourself. We have some photos of the house if you want to see.

Yeah we did the same. Wanted the first week to be really special so booked a beauty of a house right on the beach. We plan to take it easy the first week and then get the kids into school right away. They're so bored at the moment it's unreal. And it's only been a month since they finished school here.
I'll be on messenger later this evening (say 8:30ish your time?) and I can fill you in on all the latest.
Don't worry about finding something. It will all fall into place for you, I'm sure. That place Isabelle is talking about sounds lovely! 3 Beds and 3 baths. Wow!! Even if it's only for a few weeks until you get a long term place rented.
Talk soon,
Dorothy
