Ahhh, "good". Such a subjective concept, don't you find? ;)

Just to add I had a cat back in England called Shoei (she lives with my mum and dad now) and she will only use a litter tray, she plays in the garden for a bit when its dry but will not do her business out there as she may get her paws dirty. She has no problems with other cats trying to take her territory.
I would suggest the water option to get rid of the bully it worked with our last cat Cindy who was bullied by this big horrible ginger cat. After a week of my brother drowning it everytime it came near, he soon got the message to stay away.

Kerry :)

I quite like the walk to Crows Nest, our vet is up there and if its just cat food that we need then its quite a good walk, and I can stop in at the cooking shop on the way.

It was just the first Sunday, when we had only moved in on Friday, and didnt have any food or know about Chatswood/Crows Nest etc that we felt a bit hungry. Up till then we had been living in Darlinghurst, which is open 24hours!

Oh man, I love that shop! I can't even cook but I can spend hours in there. I've put it on the itinerary for my foodie friend's visit.

I havent seen my ginger terror yet today, but I am ready with some water when he comes by. Will get a little water pistol on the weekend.

I am a total foodie and could not believe my luck when I discovered that shop, it has everything. Try making your own chocolates with some of their couvetures - easy to do and soo worth the effort. And all the dear little cookie cutters and tiny cupcake cases  Well its just love at first sight for me.

It's hard to spot from the road, very low-key amongst all the furniture shops. On your right as you go up the highway, above Falcon St.

Thanks :)

Who knew that a thread about peeing tomcats could lead to the discovery of a new cooking store?

No Daydreamer you weren't listening. You don't want a "little water pistol". You want a kick ass water blaster the size of a machine gun that will stand the distance. It's also fun when the cats aren't around. :D

Haha, I'll see what I can find. I suppose it will come in handy in the heatwave expected over the weekend too

Our neighbors cat has started coming into our garden and house. He has also started fighting with our two cats. The first few months this didnt seem to happen, but now he is starting to do it daily.

It's become serious today because he has sprayed inside the house, near their litter tray and also on their carry box. :frown:

He is a big bully of a cat and ours are dear little things, they used to be indoor cats but now I work from home they are out all day. They dont know how to cope with him coming in and attacking while they are sleeping in the garden. Luckily they are both sleeping indoors today, so dont yet know about the spraying. I assume that this a territorial thing and because they are not tough cats, he believes he is dominant.

So two questions, the first is the most pressing, todays spraying, luckily it was on a concrete floor, so I have sprayed with disinfectant. Should I do anything else to make sure the smell is removed, so it doesnt upset my cats? Will it upset them?
Secondly, what can I do to stop him coming in? I know the garden is probably difficult to stop because we have only a low fence between us, and I think he is used to having the run of the street, but is there anything I can do to stop him coming indoors? I cant use those cat sprays because of my cats, but is there anything else. Do I just need to toughen them up?

I think that the people who lived here before us used to let him in the house, so that probably makes him think he belongs.

Sorry for the long post, any suggestions welcome!
x

Next time it invades your property, lock all the doors, put it in the bath (make sure you've drank a few litres of water beforehand), drop your pants and show the cat what it's like to be sprayed....Make it a family activity and get everyone to join in.

I think you'll find you'll get the result you want after this?
