Help Needed Urgently.
Hello,
I am fully qualified ACCA affiliate, and i have a BSc (Hons) degree in applied accounting as well, I have been in UK for 8 years and then had to move out of the country. I am currently in Russia with my dad and now planning to get the immigration for Australia. I have around 5-6 years of experience in my field as well. Is there anyone who can help me with what procedure should i follow and what kind of documents will be required, as i read on the Australian immigration website and they said that i need to have a membership from CPA Australia but i don not know how to get that. Eagerly waiting for a reply |

The ability to write an appropriate title is something that you should have learned in English Composition !

Re: Help Needed Urgently.
As you can see you thread title only serves to annoy people when this blatantly isn't urgent. We do get some urgent posts on here and this most definitely is not one of them.
Anyway to your question. No you do not have to be a member of CPA to pass skills assessment, I cannot imagine where you are getting that from. Accountancy skills assessment must be the easiest one out there, I believe there was a form to fill in amd a few documents to send along. Just follow the application process. Out of curiosity why are you only an affiliate when you apparently have years of experience? Isn't it time to become a full member, it would make you much more marketable when /if you do arrive in Australia. |
Re: Help Needed Urgently.
You also need to consider Australia has an oversupply of Accountants, as such have you considered how easy it may be to find work.

Accountancy is a pretty broad occupation. Fancy narrowing down the oversupplied ones?
I am only going by what I hear, as I am not an accountant. Reading this forum and other forums, is what I am basing this on. The OP has not posted what field he/she is specialised in, as such the general job market for accountants is oversupplied. If he/she has a niche role that cannot be filled locally then they can offer some unique. The same can be said for IT roles, which I am in, depending on what you do some are more in demand than others. If not specialised then I am seeing more offshoring and outsourcing. |

But I don't think it is very likely that one area of accountancy would be impacted and not another. It is pretty unusual for accountants to be siloed in that way as most can readily move from one area of accountancy to another. The obvious exception would be tax accountants, in that someone that has not specialised in tax would find it hard to pick up a tax role although the opposite is not true. |

And i am sorry it is a bit urgent for me thats why i wrote it otherwise believe me i had no intensions of offending someone over here And ACCA asks for 3 years experience in one company, where as I have been working for 3 different companies, so my individual experience does not add up to 3 years as required |

We often find that much more useful and detailed advice is given when the person asking for help is more forthcoming about their circumstances and situation. :) |
