Default Help Needed..Decent b&b's, Motels in Brissie for temp accomodation

Anyone out there used a motel or B & B as a base whilst hunting for a rental property ????

Any Recommendations ???

We're not really bothered which suburb as we'll be travelling round investigating areas in which we would like to settle..

Come on people throw it at me.......

Hi,

We stayed at Catherine House B&B (self contained one bedroom apartment) when we validated. It's in Kelvin Grove area fairly central. I see though that the cost is $595 for one weeks stay in the SC Apartment. Bit pricey but lovely. There are some other places that have been recommended. If you look for posts by MrsDagboy and ABC on their signatures you'll find links to accommodation.

Hope this helps

Cheers

Ginny

Hello - we stayed in Newmarket Garden Caravan Park, Ashgrove in a cabin a few weeks back - it was about $400 a week - but worth it.. really nice cabin... clean and the most comfortable bed ever!

Have you any idea which suburbs it will be that you will be looking at? If you do, then it is probably worth trying to get accommodation near there as it will be much easier to assess a suburb for suitability if you are there at all different times of day. If you really have no idea, then I would suggest considering one of the furnished appartments that are available in or near the city centre. A central base is potentially much better if you need to explore suburbs in all different directions and will be handy for all the bank and driving licence type things.

Also, how many people? How much space do you need? How long do you expect to be there?

Also, when it comes to suburbs that might suit, where do you expect to be working (and doing what), how long a commute would you find acceptable, do you have kids that need to be in school, how much is your budget and do you prefer older or newer properties and do you want/need a bit of a garden?

So many questions.

Cheers,

DagBoy

Many thanks for all your responses.

My better half will be working @ Greenslopes Hospital, and i know that looking @ maps of Brissie that there are ample schools for our little ankle biter Blaine in that area.

We're just looking for a nice, clean base from were we can travel around suburbs and investigate possible rentals.

My personal fave @ the minute is Balmoral !!

Balmoral (& surrounding suburbs) is a lovely area, if you are interested in that sort of area I'd be considering some of the apartments near the city. Have you tried www.seqrents.com.au ??
