Re: Help need to find sponsorship visa
You have chosen one of the more difficult paths to Australia, finding sponsorship from overseas is pretty difficult for most people and I think it would be for either of your occupations.
Have you rules out skilled migration? if not I would recommend you start there instead, it is a much more certain route in that you will either qualify or you will not and luck doesn't come into it.
Otherwise there is nothing else for it but to trawl the jobsites, send your CV off to as many places as you can and hope that somebody out there is not put off by the need to sponsor.

Re: Help need to find sponsorship visa
Personally I would start here....
http://www.immi.gov.au/
I might be jumping to conclusions, but from what you have said ("don't know where to start.."), it doesnt sound like you have done much research....truth is, there are very few "quick" routes into Australia. Sponsorship is usually reserved for those in demand, in specialist occupations or those on the SOL. Its essentially a vacancy that has been advertised, and they cant get any australian to fill.....(http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/_pdf/sol-schedule1-2.pdf)
If Im honest, I think you're very unlikely to get a sponsorship visa as a hairdresser, your husband may have more luck as a carpenter, but it would be luck as its not in demand as a special occupation.
Your best bet, at your age, would be to go to university and get a degree in something, although as people will point out, even thats no guarantee. I only make this suggestion, because as a 36 y/o engineer I was very unlikely to get to oz any other way, and so I started university to get my degree.
Hope you get the advice you need, but dont expect a quick fix. You need to do the research and work out if its the best option for you and your family.

Re: Help need to find sponsorship visa
Neither of you are likely to find sponsorship to be honest. There is no demand for hairdressers currently and tradies rarely get permanent work, they tend to be employed on a casual basis so no business will sponsor a 'foreigner' still overseas. Sorry. If Aus is a 'must' then as has been said, retraining may be the way to go but obviously there's still no guarantee as no one knows what will be on the lists in 5/6 years time.
