HELP !........Money advice
I know someone on here can help me.
For various reasons, I had to leave the UK before my house sale went through.
The house has now gone through today, so money gone in to my Uk sterling account at Barclays.
As the rate is looking healthy, how do I transfer this to Oz.......at the best rate?....I have an account at the Commonwealth bank of Aus (CBA) in London but even getting my funds tranferred (by CHAPS) from Barclays to CBA is no easy task as I am not in the Uk any more and all this money laundering lark makes life difficult.
I know I can put my CBA account on HOLD and get it transferred on my say so when the rate is good..........but CBA may not be as good on the ex rate as others.
Advice pleeeeeeeeeze............

Hi
Am a bit confused by your mail. from recollection to move money from your UK based Barclays account to the CBA London branch ought not to be a big deal, as (I think I'm right in writing) the London branch has a sort code and account code like any other UK based account. Domestic and international transfers can be arranged by telephone banking. Do you have telephone banking with Barclays?
as for getting the best rate, that's another matter!
