Default Help! Meet up for teenagers

Dear All,
We arrived last Thursday with a very unhappy 17 year old.
She had such a busy social life to nothing is quite a shock. Are there any other 17 year olds who would like to meet up. She loves shopping, films, and general socialising. We are trying to find her an apprentiship as she has already finished school and a year in college. Any ideas would be greatly received ?
Also have a 13 year old if any familys with the same age children.
Thanks Katrina

Where are you? Your profile says Isle of Sheppey.

Considering you only arrived 10 days ago she's going to have to get over her jet lag before deciding she's unhappy. Did she/you really expect her to make friends in the first week? Give it time for her to get into working or school or TAFE before deciding that she's going to be perennially friendless. Settling in can take months.

I have a 17 year old daughter but she's got a horrendous lurgy right now and isn't feeling up to going out much. When her highness gets out of bed I'll see what she's doing next weekend and get her in touch with you guys.

You should change your location so others know where you are.

Please Accept My Deepest Sympathies at this difficult time....

Seriously, .....we arrived with a very unhappy 17 year old nearly five years ago so I know what its like.... You ruined my life, I dont have any friends, I hate you, its all yoyr fault, door slam.....

Our one drove us nuts being online 24/7 to her mates back in the uk who spent their entire time telling her how much they missed her and how she should come back on her own.... But 10 days as Dotty says is not enough time to have sneezed, let alone started to make friends.... Try not to overwhelm her with friends kids... It wont work... She needs to make her own friends in her own time...

It can bebespecially difficult at that age... Most kids have got a friendship circle from school and those that dont ... BEWARE!!!!!

Its offers time at tafe for next semester, so a vocational tafe course would be a good start... Get down to your nearest one this week.... A lot of courses have two starts each year....

afraid The only suitable one I have is a nearly 16 year old...sadly he has acclimatised to the point where he is an almost horizontal surfer dude type... So probably not really an appropriate introduction..... His mother loves him though.... And we are down in rockingham....

I think 17 has to be THE hardest age for anyone to immigrate....
