Help! Medical problem
Hi,
I've been reading the topics on this site for ages, but this is the first time i've written anything. We have applied on 138 sponsered visa and are on the final stages, had meds done and the bond has been accepted. But we have now received a letter from our CO asking for one of my step children to go for further blood tests - Serum Creatine (to do with her only having one kidney). I am now worried sick that this will stop us from getting our visa's. The annoying thing is that she isn't even coming with us as she lives with her mother, and the 5 of us that are going (hopefully) all passed our medicals with flying colours. It just isn't fair. Has anyone else had any similar problems? and did you still get your visa's issued.
Jane

Incidentally the reason for this rule is that DIMIA regard any natural child as automatically dependent (if aged under 18 and single) even if not supported by you. But for the rule requiring non- migrating children to do medicals people would just exclude children from their applications and then immediately sponsor for child visas once they had arrived in Australia. A Dependent Child visa has a health waiver available, hence the loophole needed to be closed.
Good luck otherwise.

You will need to be prepared to pay for professional assistance.
