Question help on the job frontthanks

hi.looking to come out in december with wife +2 boys 3+6.o.h. will be working as a nurse in brisbane,so my job will have to be able to allow me time off to drop kids at school etc.as my job skill does not transfer directly to oz,i am looking to be self employed ,possibly as a chauffeur.does anyone know availability of this kind of work, will they take on someone with limited knowledge of the area,do you need any special license etc.any help would be greatly appreciated.thanks.

Depends on what amount of fares you can pick up, ie the taxi owner gets X%, you get X% and I could assume one of the only 2 taxi companies get X %.

Queensland Government Wageline
http://www.wageline.qld.gov.au/award..._transport.htm

I'm not sure this would be the exact one for you because it states different awards may apply if you are a chauffeur or limousine driver in southern Queensland.

If you click on the 'View full award' link in the yellow box on the right it's page has links on the right for 'Help' and 'Award online enquiries' that might be able to clarify things for you.
